Creative Workshops for Young People

Our creative filmmaking & photography workshops enable young people to take their creativity, imagination and skills to the next level. We provide enjoyable learning experiences for a diverse range of young people, encouraging them to produce their own work with a strong focus of empowering them in a supportive working environment. This also helps to equip them with additional interests, hobbies and potential career paths within creative avenues.

In our creative workshops, we strive to utilise filmmaking and new media skills to empower our young people through creative expression.

The workshop is packed with practicality, promoting team building, communication and organisational skills whilst working on shared goals. The duration generally ranges from 6-10 weeks (subject to preference) which can be tailored to specific requirements. We include an introduction to new media skills, learn basic camera functions, planning and idea conceptualising, sound, lighting, introduction to editing and the experience of different roles within a production team.

What’s involved

Our filmmaking workshops have a large impact on our participants improving teamwork experience, confidence building, self-esteem and creativity with our mentorship and guidance. We outreach to a broad range of young people including those from low income and BAME backgrounds as well as specialist groups such as NEET young people and young offenders.

Impact

We work with schools, colleges and areas across London boroughs and the UK. We have a range of equipment to suit all ages, abilities and filmmaking styles. We use software that is both professional and accessible for first time filmmakers.

Who we work with

Primary Schools Our workshops are a brilliant way to infuse media and creativity into learning programmes at primary schools. We have experience designing workshops for children from Key Stages 1 & 2 that are simple, fun, hands-on and craft based. We train with easy to use cameras and editing software so that children can engage in all aspects of the filmmaking process.

Secondary Schools We help to enhance students’ film and media literacy. Our workshops provide an excellent addition to Media Studies building up awareness and understanding of film genre, as well as developing professional skills on the latest digital equipment.

Colleges Our workshops are an excellent springboard for students to develop their skills for future training, education and employment. We work with colleges to create ‘live briefs’ that simulate the world of work and tie in with the curriculum. This works well to enhance and support BTEC and A-Level courses.

We are always flexible, so if you would like something bespoke, have a specific brief in mind,
